TEAM GGS RACING TAKES ANOTHER CHECKERED FLAG FOR 2008

Before the start of this weekend's race at Summit Point WV, Team GGS worked long hours adjusting the setup to improve the handling of the Acura Integra.

Saturday morning, GGS qualified in First Place for FP class – fourth overall. There were six starters in FP.

On Saturday afternoon, we had our second qualifying session. The car ran great and we improved our time from the morning session by over a half a second. We remained First in FP, and placed Third overall, which is where we started for Sunday's race.

The race started just after 4:00 PM. Team GGS got a decent start but got held up by an EP car in the first turn. The Acura was challenged by the second place FP car, Jerry Hinkle in a Lotus, coming out of the first turn. From there, Mark held the lead and started to build a gap. Hinkle pulled off with three laps to go, and Team GGS held on from there to win our third race in the three starts in 2008 !.

The changes that our team worked on before and during the event weekend worked great, and we are making excellent progress on tuning our car to the maximum.

During the race, we reset the track record at Summit Point in FP with a 1:22.8 lap time. With three wins, we now lead the Northeast Division Points lead with 36 points

Our next event will be the June Sprints at Road America in Wisconsin June 22, 2008

Team GGS will shoot for four consecutive wins in four outings that weekend, as we continue building momentum for a return to the National Championship Run-Offs in Topeka in October!
